You Are Too Beautiful

I just watched Hannah and Her Sisters again and was struck by one particular cut from that remarkable soundtrack. It was "You Are Too Beautiful" by Richard Rodgers. Specifically I think the harmonic motion at the beginning of that song must have influenced me when I wrote "Before You Go." Check out the two tracks and tell if you can hear the influence. I wasn't aware of it at the time, but the harmonic thinking seems very similar to me today. - LYLE
