Nana

That's my travel alarm clock balanced on my arm and my juggling sacks on the floor in a mini Stonehenge, or what I might have called Sackhenge.

I loved Nana, bonded with him. When we played together, magic always happened. We had an amazing connection despite not knowing what the fuck the other person was trying to say. So many of my synth sounds, with their subtle undulations and pulses were a direct response to Nana and his homemade instruments. I built my own synth sounds and Nana knew that so I think our bond started with building sounds. We each had experience with making sounds from scratch, whether we started with sticks and stones or electricity and filters. We were both architects of sound.

I treasure the music I made with Nana and he always added perfect touches in ways I could have never written. He was always "other" in the sense that he could never know me and I could never know him, yet we made that work, and that gives me hope and solace. - LYLE
